Abstract
Cuttlefishes, Squids, Octopuses and Nautili are some significant cephalopods in terms of ecology and commerce on both a financial and environmental level. The species of the first three categories can be found in the Egyptian's Red and Mediterranean waters. These constitute an important component of the fishing sector. Investigating the ecology and biology of several species. To provide a high degree of reliability in any study, Their Identification requires to be performed with extreme care. The current catalogue has been created to show that it is the first of its sort for these groupings. There are twenty different cephalopod species known to exist in Egyptian seas. Eight different cuttlefish species were identified. These consist of Sepia elegans,S.savigny,S. officinalis, S. parashadi,S. pharaonis,S. elogata and Rossia macrosoma. Sepia officinalis and Rossia macrosoma are dwelling the Mediterranean. The Red sea is the home to Sepia pharaonis,S.elongata,S.parashadi, and S, savignyi Sepia dollfusi is found in the Red and the Mediterranean seas.Six species of squid that have been determined Uoroteuthis photololigo duvaucelii, Alloteuthis media, Illex coindetii,Sepioteuthis lessoniana, Loligo forbesi and Loligo vulgari,. Three of them, Ilex coindetii, Loligo vulgaris, and Alloteuthis media dwelling the Mediterranean sea.Uroteuthis photololigo duvauceli inhabitant the Red sea. Sepioteuthis lessoniana and Loligo forbesi inhabit both the Mediterranean and Red sea. The following six octopus species have been identified: Octopus vulgaris, Macrotritopus defilippi, Callistoctopus macropus, Eledone moschata,Amphyoctopus aegina and Amphyoctopus membranaceus. Octopus vulgaris, Macrotritopus defilippi,Callistoctopus macropus are products of the Mediterranean and Red sea, in contrast to Amphyoctopus aegina and Amphyoctopus membranaceus, which live in the Red sea.The Eledone moschata is found in the Mediterranean sea.
